I recently watched this environmental documentary called “The 11th Hour” and I must say that although I don’t agree with everything the film talks about, it’s definately one of the few good envirodocu’s out there. In my opinion, it unhysterically deals with some of the real issues why the world is so messed up and getting worse; that being the human mind and the ego.

This is kind of hard for me to put into words, but in short the problems we face are not merely external, but largely internal. Of the spiritual and psychological kind.

Several thousand years ago many of us lost sight of the beauty in nature and what really matters. We’ve become extremely needy and try to artificially fill that void in ourselves with cars, gadgets & trinkets, partying, vacations and so on. Not that there’s any wrong with those things in general when bought or done for the right reasons, but in most cases nothing is ever enough because none of those things will ever fill that void.
So basicly every individual who feels that way, reflects it onto other people, and so it affects a very large part of human society; thus also nature as a whole. We are after all not separate from nature.

It’s really a macrocosm of how the human being works. Although many of us are too busy to notice, humans constantly communicate their internal state outwards, and it manifests in their behaviour and eventually also in their life situation. So basicly if you are depressed, unjoyful, pessimistic and gloomy, it will show in your behaviour and draw that kind of negative stuff into your life and you will apply that onto others aswell.
It’s a downward spiral, which can become very bad and lead to a life of unhappiness and despair, even suicide … OR it can create so much friction that your just ego dies and you slow down, stop thinking for a while, start to focus on what really matters and enjoy life.
I think that is what human society and the earth are going through. We’re nearing a tipping point where things can either go very badly, or extremely good. It can be the beginning of the end, or a new beginning.

What we need to do is fix our internal problems first, like our spiritual ones and the internal structure of the economy and the corporation, and the external ones will more or less start to solve themselves … or not, but at least we’ll have some clarity.

Anyway, in the end it doesn’t really matter to the world if we ruin the planet or not. The universe at large will be unaffected, the earth will keep on spinning and most likely eventually regenerate. After all, life is not that fragile, it was born from fire and brimstone.
It’s just very sad and truly a shame if it does happen so soon, and that our grandchildren might not experience nature in all it’s beauty.

Hey hoes,

I recently sold my Suzuki SV650S ‘99, aka El Toro. I was fine with being without a bike for a while, but then I got the motorcycle fever. I mean, goddamn man, it’s warm, it’s summer, my BMW is b0rken (something with the fuel tubes, the fucker started gushing out fuel like Niagra falls in the middle of Helsinki), I’m a young healthy guy and I have some extra ca$h. So why not, I love bikes.

So I start searching like hell for a new crotchrocket, and one that I could get my hands on FAST. I go through all the decent sport bikes from Suzuki, Honda, Ducati, Yamaha, and then finally Kawasaki … I had hit the jackpot. As it turns out, almost every other Kawasaki sportbike was being sold from an owner in Helsinki (where I live). So I start calling them up, even though most of them are located in Helsinki, they had their bikes in winter storage somewhere else. And then after a while I find this one guy, who had just bought a Kawasaki ZX-6R ‘03, but realized that because of the family business he’s running, he has almost no time to ride his newly bought bike. So the next day he brings it over, I test drive it, everything seems A-OK, so I buy it.

All this happened in under 24 hours, no doubt the most spontaneous thing I’ve done this year.

So here it is … oh, and I dub thee Kermit (on crack),
